We are the Alkurabi family: Feras, Basel, Keith, Racha, Kayleen, and Ameerah, the team behind Belgrade Hospitality. Our family has been integral to our success. Together, we strive to provide the best possible experience for all our guests, sharing the love, memories, and joy that our family has cherished.
**Our Roots**
Our journey began back in Damascus, Syria, inspired by our father, a visionary businessman and tireless worker. In the 1970s, he founded Chevalier Restaurant, a French cuisine establishment. Through his vision and dedication, he built it into a landmark and iconic restaurant known throughout the Middle East for its exceptional service and exquisite dining experience. Chevalier Restaurant was even mentioned in an article in the New York Times, praised as "a landmark of exceptional service and exquisite dining." From him, we inherited the fundamentals of business and the importance of dedication, perseverance, and exceptional customer service.
**Our Ventures in the U.S.**
We moved to the United States in the 1980s, bringing with us a deep-rooted passion for excellence and service. Our first business venture in the U.S. was operating a Lil Peach convenience store franchise. From there, we expanded into owning and operating multiple gas stations, convenience stores, and restaurants.
In 2007, we became part of Rochester Hospitality and helped build a brand new Holiday Inn Express. This experience marked the beginning of our journey in the hospitality industry. The success of this project inspired us to further pursue our passion for providing exceptional guest experiences.
**Belgrade Hospitality Today**
In 2009, our family relocated to Belgrade, Maine, where we found new inspiration in the beautiful lakefront surroundings and the vibrant local community. In 2019, we founded Belgrade Hospitality, driven by our desire to share these incredible experiences and the joy of lakeside living with others. Our properties in Belgrade, Winthrop, and Sidney offer a variety of beautiful locations where guests can create lasting memories. Each property features amenities such as private docks, kayaks, canoes, and cozy fire pits, ensuring a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
